We are proud to announce you that we introduced on line tax computation system in Sri Lanka in year 2004 and no provision has been made under the Inland Revenue Act to furnish tax returns by electronically in the year we introduced online tax system.

However, as a result of introducing online tax system by us, Inland Revenue Act has been amended to allow furnishing income tax returns by electronic means in the Inland Revenue Act no 10 of 2006 and subsequently Value Added Tax Act and Economic Service Charge Act too amended to allow furnishing relevant returns.

   
But no facility has been provided by the Department of Inland Revenue of Sri Lanka so far and Commissioner General of Inland Revenue expressed that actions will be taken to accept on line tax Returns in Sri Lanka.
